Divine Masculine and Divine Feminine

In the Emerald Tablet of Hermes Trismegistus, the principle of gender states: There is gender in everything, masculine and feminine exist on all planes.

In this episode, John Moore explores the meaning of gender from the perspective of spirit. He talks about the divine masculine impulse - Eros, and the divine feminine impulse - Agape and how they cannot be separated.

Beyond patriarchy, politics, and sex, how do yin and yang play out in our spiritual lives, and the benefit of embracing both sides? John touches on the Tao - yin, and yang, as well as shamanism.

John talks about the fetch or fylgia from Celtic and Norse beliefs and how that shows up in the series, based on His Dark Materials.

Bringing it back to the shamanic impulse, John discusses his experiences of gender while training in shamanism and sitting in shamanic circle.

John Moore

John Moore is an irreverent spiritual teacher and shamanic practitioner. Having spent over two decades in the corporate world as a computer scientist, John entered a "dark night of the soul." This manifested as a mental, physical, and spiritual crisis. This crisis, as John would learn later, was an archetypal call to shamanic initiation.

John dove headfirst into the practice of shamanism, looking to his Celtic and Norse ancestral line. He has explored altered states of consciousness, becoming a certified hypnotherapist and meditation instructor.

John considers himself a guide, not a guru - helping people find the path towards their own connection to the divine.
